TAJBank Limited, Nigeria’s largest non-interest bank (NIB) by assets, has sustained its growth trajectory, with Profit Before Tax (PBT) rising by 74 per cent to N31.562 billion in the 2025 financial year.
The figure represents a significant increase from the N18.166 billion recorded in the 2024 financial year, according to the bank’s audited financial statements for 2025.
A statement issued by the bank’s Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Mr Hamid Joda, in Abuja on Monday, said total assets also increased to N1.34 trillion, up from N953 billion in the preceding year.
Joda said the bank’s total equity rose to N149 billion, representing a 144 per cent increase from the N61.250 billion recorded in 2024.
He said the performance reflected the bank’s strong showing across key performance indicators (KPIs) during the year.
Joda attributed the improved financial performance to the management’s adoption of a prudent financial approach, which he said had helped strengthen investor confidence in the bank.
“I am using this opportunity to thank the shareholders and to assure them that their funds are secured and will continue to yield sustainable good returns on a yearly basis,” he said.
Joda also expressed the bank’s commitment to rewarding shareholders for their continued support and commitment to its sustainable growth as Nigeria’s largest ethical bank by assets.
He disclosed that the bank’s board, at its 2026 virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM), approved a dividend of 20 kobo per share for shareholders.
He described the dividend as one of the highest per-share payouts in the Nigerian banking industry.
The statement quoted the bank’s Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Gwamna, as saying that the decision to approve the dividend was taken at the AGM.
“The Board rewarded the shareholders for their contributions to the growth of TAJBank, as we have been doing over the years,” Gwamna said.
The bank’s Executive Director, Mr Sheriff Idi, appreciated the shareholders for their confidence in the management, assuring them that the bank would continue to prioritise their interests in its operations.
NAN reports that TAJBank Limited was recently rated by regulatory authorities as the biggest player in Nigeria’s non-interest banking subsector, based on its approved half-year 2025 financial statements, particularly in terms of total assets and gross earnings.
The bank also secured three International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) certifications from Certification Partner Global (CPG).
The certifications are ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 20000, covering information security, business continuity and IT service management systems, respectively.
