Zube Sunstar Group of Companies has dismissed allegations of fraud and business sabotage against its Chairman, Mr. Henry Ikeji, describing them as a “coordinated campaign of calumny and character assassination” allegedly orchestrated by disgruntled elements.

Ikeji, who is also the founder of the Nzube Ikeji Foundation, made this known in a statement issued by the company’s management in Abuja on Monday.

Pressroom reports that the Zube Sunstar chairman on Monday honoured an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), presenting himself for interrogation over the allegations.

Confirming the development, EFCC spokesperson, Mr. Dele Oyewale, said Ikeji was invited by the commission and he complied accordingly.

According to the statement, Ikeji voluntarily reported to the EFCC to clear his name and address the allegations head-on.

The management explained that the smear campaign was allegedly instigated by a former associate involved in a failed business transaction with Ikeji.

“The allegations against Mr. Ikeji are 100 per cent false, malicious, and a desperate fabrication,” the statement said.

It alleged that the former associate had attempted to hijack a licensing project involving a federal ministry and resorted to blackmail after his efforts proved unsuccessful.

The company categorically denied claims linking Ikeji to a “Romanian woman” or to alleged criminal activities in Dubai, stressing that he has never travelled to the United Arab Emirates.

“Allegations suggesting criminal activities in Dubai are demonstrably false. Mr. Henry Ikeji has never travelled to Dubai in his life.

“His international travel history is a matter of public record and available for verification by the relevant authorities.

“Mr. Henry Ikeji has no knowledge of, nor any association with, any ‘Romanian woman.’ This is cheap blackmail—a ghost story manufactured to tarnish the reputation of a man who has spent years building a legitimate business and humanitarian legacy in Delta State and Abuja,” the statement said.

The management further alleged that the former associate had issued direct threats against Ikeji and members of his family, noting that the threats had been documented and were under legal review.

It added that Ikeji had instructed his legal team to commence defamation proceedings against those involved and to formally petition security agencies to investigate the alleged threats and harassment.

The company urged stakeholders and members of the public to disregard the allegations, describing them as a failed attempt at a hostile takeover.

The management assured that Ikeji’s integrity and business reputation remained intact, adding that documentary evidence would be made available to partners and stakeholders as required.
