Prowess University Delaware, United States of America will on Saturday confer honorary Doctorate Degree Award on an astute and colossus Accountant , Moruff Babatunde Ajiga.
The Prowess University Award is in recognition of Ajiga’s excellence as an accounting professional, Manager, Socialite and erudite Civil Servant.
The ceremony which will also features other recipients of the prestigious awards will hold at the University of Lagos, Akoka – Lagos on Saturday, June 1, 2024.
Moruff Babatunde Ajiga is an embodiment of creativity, excellence and dynamism in quality service delivery. A personality with a tall vision and taste for exemplary leadership quality through sound education.
Born on the 12th of July 1968, Mr.Ajiga started his early education at Christ Church Cathedral School and later enrolled at Methodist Boys High School where he obtained his General Certificate of Education and “A” Level Certificate.
The resplendent accountant matriculated at the University of Lagos,where he bagged a Bsc(Hon) in Banking & Finance.He deepened his knowledge in Banking when he earned a Masters Degree from Lagos State University.
On the social front, Ajiga joined the Okoo Faji Carnival Association and captained the group from Massey Zone in 1997.
He is a member of the prestigious Ikoyi Club; Lagos Lawn Tennis Club ; Eko Club and the Altimate Circle of Nigeria.
Moruff Ajiga is also a member of the Association of Like Minds, a newly formed social organization. In the course of its operations, the organization deemed it expedient to appoint Ajiga , a consummate accountant as its president.
AJIGA is a member of several professional bodies. As a Certified Accountant, he is a Fellow of the International Federation of Accountants; Fellow, Institute of Public Accountants, Fellow, Certified Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.He is also an active member of the Nigeria Institute of Management.
MORUFF is passionate about increasing his knowledge on a legion of subjects.He loves playing lawn tennis, and swimming. He is married and the union has brought forth responsible children.
The University Honorary Award is in collaboration with Lead Times Africa Magazine and the Institute of Arts Management and Professional Studies,
(IAMPS) .
Speaking, Professor Prince Chidi Nwauba, who doubles as African Representatives of Prowess University, Delaware USA and Registrar/CEO of IAMPS, the degree award is in recognition of Ajiga and other awardees’ outstanding leadership qualities that is anchored on integrity, transparency and accountability in quality service delivery
Also speaking on the award, the Advisory Board Chairman of Lead Times Africa Magazine, Prof. Buba S. Mshelia said the theme of this year’s edition of the award is , ” Curbing the Excesses of Kidnapping and Armed banditry in Africa Through Good Governance in Leadership – Panacea to Nigeria’s Food Security Challenges and Sustainable Development.
Other recipients of the award includes, the Ebony State Deputy Governor, Mrs Patricia Obilla; Wife of the Bayelsa Deputy Governor’s Wife, Mrs Beatrice Ewhrudjakpo; the Deputy Speakers of Kwara and Adamawa State, Hon. Ojo Olayiwola and Mohammed Buba Jibawa respectively.
