In its commitment to shaping the next generation of young designers who will captivate the global fashion scene, Polaris Bank has partnered with Amtis Skills Place, a leading organization dedicated to equipping young Nigerians with contemporary vocational skills. The collaboration aims to identify, train, and mentor emerging designers through the 2024 Amtis Fashion Competition.
Since its founding in 2015, Amtis Skills Place has been devoted to bridging the gap between traditional education and the evolving job market by providing young Nigerians with valuable vocational training.
Polaris Bank Empowers Media Practitioners with 2024 Capacity Building Workshop
This year’s event, proudly sponsored by Polaris Bank, brought together emerging designers aged 18 to 35, all tasked with creating garments inspired by vintage styles. The participants—comprising fashion designers, makeup artists, and models—worked collaboratively to showcase their creativity. They were judged on creativity, craftsmanship, teamwork, and their adherence to the vintage theme, celebrating classic fashion eras while empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs.
The competition, organized by Amtis Skills Place, culminated in an awards ceremony where three finalists were crowned. Wuraola Robert claimed the top prize of ₦500,000, while the second and third-place winners received ₦300,000 and ₦200,000, respectively.
In his address to the participants, delivered on behalf of Polaris Bank’s Managing Director/CEO, Kayode Lawal stated: “At Polaris Bank, we are committed to helping you achieve your dreams with the right support. This is why we partnered with Amtis Vintage Fashion. We are confident that next year’s event will be even bigger, with more content, giveaways, and expanded opportunities to empower the business sector.”
