Real had mounted a stunning comeback to shatter City in last season’s semi-final, but the 14-time winners saw their recovery powers desert them at a raucous Etihad Stadium as Pep Guardiola’s side turned on the style.
City can seal the Premier League title this weekend and have now booked an Istanbul date with Inter Milan next month as they finally seek a first Champions League crown.
