Rev. Otasowie Ehanire has described his newly released song, Makosa Praise, as a deeply uplifting gospel track crafted to strengthen faith, inspire hope, and renew confidence in God among listeners.
Ehanire, popularly known as Prince Charles in his musical works, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Thursday that music has always been at the heart of his life and spiritual journey.
He explained that Makosa Praise redirects attention from life’s challenges to divine strength, encouraging gratitude, resilience in the face of despair, and a positive, humble mindset rooted in faith.
According to him, his musical path has been shaped by early family influence and profound spiritual encounters, which continue to inspire songs such as Okemmuo and Makosa Praise.
He noted that his parents introduced him to music at an early age, while performing at the Apollo Theatre significantly boosted his confidence.
He added that most of his compositions are born out of deep spiritual experiences.
“I did not stumble into gospel music; my inspiration flows from God’s grace and faithfulness.
“All my songs, including Okemmuo, are centred on exalting God,” he said.
Ehanire emphasised that his music is designed to uplift, inspire faith, and build resilience, especially in difficult times, while encouraging people to trust God and embrace a life of worship.
“My mission is to use music as a vehicle for transformation and spiritual awakening in a world marked by uncertainty and moral decline,” he said.
He stressed that his pursuit of gospel music goes beyond commercial success, describing it as a divine calling aimed at spreading God’s message globally and nurturing emerging talents.
“For me, success is not measured by fame or wealth, but by the lives impacted. Drawing people closer to God remains the ultimate reward,” he added.
Ehanire further noted that his songs, particularly Okemmuo, portray God as Almighty, faithful, and compassionate, presenting Him as a loving Father actively involved in human affairs.
He, however, identified key challenges facing gospel artists, including inadequate funding, limited access to quality production, and insufficient exposure, calling for stronger support within the industry.
The artist also revealed that he has sponsored at least six upcoming musicians, adding that his music reflects his personal testimony and unwavering belief in God’s presence.
