Lagos Prominent Citizens Applaud Tinubu Over Disu’s Appointment as IGP

A group under the aegis of Lagos State Prominent Citizens has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Mr. Olatunji Disu as the new Inspector-General of Police.

In a statement issued in Lagos and signed by its spokesman, Chief (Dr.) Adesunbo Onitiri, the group described the appointment as “a historic elevation of a Lagos indigene to a highly coveted position,” expressing appreciation to the President for what it termed a well-deserved recognition of merit and service.

The group said the emergence of Olatunji Adio Rilwan Disu as Acting Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police Force was a glowing testament to his years of steadfast service, professional excellence, competence and unwavering commitment to the Nigerian state.

According to the statement, Disu’s career trajectory within the police force reflects dedication and integrity, adding that his appointment would further strengthen security architecture and inspire confidence in law enforcement across the country.

While thanking the President for the appointment, the group also prayed for divine guidance and protection for Tinubu as he continues to lead the nation.

It expressed optimism that his administration would deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians beyond his first term in office.

The Prominent Citizens further assured the President of their support and admiration for what they described as monumental developmental strides being executed nationwide, particularly in Lagos State.

The statement specifically highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Badagry-Sokoto Expressway, noting that the projects would significantly boost the nation’s economy and generate millions of jobs for Nigerians.

Describing the appointment of Disu and the ongoing infrastructure developments as bold and visionary steps, the group said Lagosians and Nigerians at large would remain grateful for the leadership direction being provided under Tinubu’s administration.

The group reaffirmed its continued support for policies and initiatives aimed at national development and improved security across the country.
