History was made yesterday as people from all walks of life gathered to witness the official inauguration of the Coalition of North Central States within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ojodu LCDA area of Lagos State.
The event, marked by grandeur and celebration, took place at the palace of the ONU Igala, Akiode, in Ojodu, Ikeja, Lagos. It culminated in the election of officers to oversee the affairs of North Central in the APC within the Ojodu LCDA.
In his speech, Comrade Mohammed Suleiman, the representative of the State Chairman North Central, congratulated the newly elected executives.
He encouraged them to prioritize the interests of North Central and emphasized the importance of maintaining the peace and unity that Ojodu currently enjoys.
The new Chairman, Comrade (Hon) Abubakar Hussein, expressed his commitment to making North Central greater while fostering peace and unity.
He emphasized the need for collective action, saying, “United we stand, divided we fall. Let us work together so that, one day, we can all be congratulated.”
In his acceptance speech, Hussein also expressed deep gratitude to the Chairman of APC in Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Stella Kokumo, and all political leaders for their trust in him.
He offered special thanks to Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, MHR, for his exceptional leadership of the Ikeja Federal Constituency, describing him as the “pillar of North Central.”
After the presentation of the newly elected executives by the Secretary, Jolly Egbodo, the new officials were administered the oath of office by Barr. Ahmed Aliyu Obaka.
The event was attended by notable figures, including leaders and elders from the six states and Abuja that form North Central.
In his remarks, the new Chairman highlighted the importance of looking forward while also appreciating the journey that led to this moment.
He said, “North Central States people are known for their warmth, passion, dedication, hope, and pragmatism. As we approach the political season, all hands must be on deck to move APC in Ojodu LCDA forward.”
He concluded by wishing everyone success and reiterated that, with the diverse ideas and voices from North Central, they would always strive to make Ojodu a better place for all.
