Former Military Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar has identified Character as the utmost quality in the health profession either as an Allied Health Professional, a Doctor, Nurse or Medical Scientist.

Speaking at the third convocation ceremony of PAMO University of Medical Sciences, Port Harcourt, the former head of State, who is also the Chancellor, the University urged health Professionals in the country to exhibit good character and integrity in all their conduct, adding that these would guide them through challenging times, enable them to connect with patients on a deeper level, and make a lasting impact in their lives.

He urged graduating students to strive for excellence in every aspect of their practice, set high standards for themselves, and continue to seek ways to improve their skills and knowledge.

He added that their commitment to excellence would not only benefit their patients but also bring them personal and professional fulfillment adding that they should strive to demonstrate the ideals and values that defines PAMO University of Medical Sciences.

According to him, the medical field is not merely a profession, but a calling, a vocation that demands a profound sense of responsibility, stressing that medical profession are entrusted with the lives and well-being of others, a privilege that comes with immense weight.

He said “Today marks a monumental occasion in the history of our beloved University. We had earlier on this morning witnessed the induction ceremony of our newly qualified Doctors into the medical profession. As we gather to celebrate the third convocation ceremony, the echoes of your accomplishment will resonate through the halls of this University for generations to come. This occasion marks not only a triumph for each of you, but a triumph for our institution, a testament to the unwavering dedication of the Proprietor, BOT, Council, Management, Staff and the unyielding support of our parents, well-wishers and especially the Rivers State Government.

‘’Your journey has been one of tenacity, sacrifices and unrelenting pursuit of knowledge. You have not only excelled in the halls of this university, but you have also demonstrated a commitment to the ideals and values that define PAMO University of Medical Sciences.

‘’I wish to share with you some reflections on the essence of your achievements and offer insights that I believe are vital as you embark on this noble profession.
