A Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned the trial of businessman Peter Olasubomi Olowe and his company, Max Vision Global Concept Limited, to March 3, 2025.
The case involves allegations of obtaining N24.7 million by false pretenses and issuing dud cheques.
The four-count charge, filed by the Nigeria Police Special Fraud Unit in Ikoyi, Lagos, accuses Olowe and his company of conspiring in 2018 to defraud Seedland Agro-Allied Ltd, represented by one Johnson Olayiwola Muyiwa.
It is alleged that the duo convinced Seedland to pay them N24,783,109.00 for raw cashew nuts and seeds, with the intention of supplying the products, a claim they knew to be false.
Olowe and Max Vision Global Concept Limited allegedly issued two cheques totaling N20 million to Seedland Agro-Allied Ltd.
However, the cheques were dishonored when presented for payment due to insufficient funds in the defendants’ bank accounts.
Olowe and his company face charges under Section 8(a) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud-Related Offenses Act, 2006, which is punishable under Section 1(3) of the same Act.
