Ibadan Explosion: Late Akeredolu, Bola Ige, Ex- Deputy Gov’s Lose Properties

    Former  Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun,  a Senior Lawyer,  Niyi Akintola, former Attorney General of the Federation, Late Chief Bola ige and former Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu among other eminent Nigerians lost their properties in the explosion that rocked the ancient city of Ibadan last Tuesday.
    Barrister Iyiola Oladokun has cried out that he and his family have been rendered homeless after the explosion that rocked Ibadan Tuesday night.
    Oladokun, whose residence was among the houses affected by the explosion, said he and his family members could not sleep in his house again due to the damage from the explosion.
    He said a friend had to provide accommodation for him and his wife after the explosion.
    Speaking with journalists, Oladokun said the property destroyed in his house as a result of the incident worth millions of naira
    Explaining how it happened, Oladokun said “We were just watching a football match when the explosion occurred. All the doors that were closed were forced open.
    “It was very devastating. All the doors, burglaries, windows and even the roof have gone. We give glory to God that me and my wife were not hurt.”
    “I am just coming back now because we can’t sleep here again. We couldn’t sleep here yesterday. We had to use our phone to move out yesterday”, (Tuesday)
    It was also gathered that Niyi Akintola SAN’s hotel  which shared a fence with Barrister Oladokun’s house was also  destroyed by the Ibadan blast.
    ” It is a posh hotel in a posh area known as ‘House 40″ on Dejo Oyelese Street .It has  24 beds which include Eight suites,  three  chalets and 13 standard room.
    “Other members of the Bar whose properties were destroyed on the street include the Late Chief Bola Ige SAN,  the late Chief Bandele Aiku SAN, and an hospitality building said to belong to the late Governor of Ondo state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN”, a resident of the area who doesn’t want his names in print told The sentinel .
    Meanwhile, the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has vowed that those who brought this tragedy on Oyo State will not go unpunished.
    He said the state has identified the company that stored up the explosives , which caused Tuesday explosion in Ibadan and that they will be brought to justice”
